Chery’s global outreach continues to accelerate as the carmaker sold 60,419 vehicles in February – up 26.4% year-on-year (YoY) – including 19,997 units sold outside China (+9.3% YoY). Sales for the first two months of 2022 now totals 147,459 vehicles (+17.3% YoY), including exports of 46,897 vehicles (+33.9% YoY).
Despite the global chip shortage, Chery International has achieved rapid sales growth through the introduction of new products and technologies, plus the constant creation of more value for its customers.
Based on National Motor Vehicle Distribution Federation (Fenabrave) data, Chery continued to rank among the top nine in passenger car sales in Brazil with a volume of 3,241 vehicles in February. Its year-to-date sales now stands at 6,372 units, accounting for 3.36% of the passenger car market. The Arrizo 6 Pro came out fourth in the car segment with a 5.35% market share, and the Tiggo 5X Pro launched in February to much fanfare.
In Chile, according to Asociación Nacional Autoriz de Chile A.G. (ANAC) data, Chery’s February sales jumped 63% YoY, netting it a 7.7% market share. The company ranked second among all automotive brands and its year-to-date sales is up 114% YoY, while the Tiggo 2 range maintained its top position in the SUV segment in terms of sales.
There are now over 10 million Chery users globally, including 2 million users outside China. With six research and development (R&D) bases, 10 overseas manufacturing plants and over 1,500 overseas sales and service outlets, the carmaker has a total overseas production capacity of 200,000 units a year. Chery has been China’s top passenger car exporter for 19 consecutive years.
As Chery continues to strive towards its annual export target of 400,000 vehicles, the company will further accelerate its globalisation strategy.
